The Berlin Affair

In 1973, in the shadow of Vietnam and the looming threat of nuclear war, Europe is a powder keg. A US Air Force Captain, hunting for glory he lost overseas, arrives in Berlin. An American journalist chases a scoop that could make her career. And two scarred veterans, Major Richard Belisle and his Soviet counterpart Major Danton Larionov, are about to be drawn into a deadly duel of secrets.

At the centre of it all is a Soviet press attaché, Ekaterina Soroka, ordered to seduce Belisle for blackmail. But a dangerous desire sparks between them, entangling her in a betrayal she never intended.

As the Yom Kippur War ignites and superpowers stand on the brink, the US Military Liaison Mission scours East Germany for Soviet war plans. On the bloodied trails of Thuringia, in the decadent underground of Berlin, and in the halls of power from Washington to Moscow, loyalties will fracture.

The fate of nations may turn on a single betrayal.
